The Navratna PSU MTNL has gone the state carrier Air India way. Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited has not paid the salary to its employees for the month of November 2018 due to fund shortage. As per media reports. MTNL is facing acute fund shortage for working capital and for paying salary. It has not paid the salary for Delhi unit & Mumbai unit and its corporate office. In this regard MTNL is taking a short term loan of 250 crore rupees from the open market. Its interesting to see that the before coming to power the NDA government put the blame on UPA that the condition of BSNL and MTNL are bad due to the policy of UPA government. But after 4 and half year at power nothing has been done by NDA government for the state operator BSNL and MTNL. Both MTNL & BSNL are bleeding. BSNL has freezed some of its allowances.
