Teledensity indicators of various services in India April – June, 2018

Indian decreasing Teledensity
 1. The number of telephone subscribers in India declined from 1,206.22 million at the end of Mar-18 to 1,168.89 million at the end of Jun-18, registering a decline rate of 3.09% over the previous quarter.
This reflects year-on-year (Y-O-Y) decline rate of 3.46% over the same quarter of last year. The overall Teledensity in India declined from 92.84 as on QE Mar-18 to 89.72 as on QE Jun-18.
Urban Area Decreasing trendSubscription in Urban Areas declined from 681.61 million at the end of Mar-18 to 652.76 million at the end of Jun-18 and Urban Teledensity also declined from 165.90 to 158.16 during the same period.

Rural Area Decreasing trendRural subscription declined from 524.61 million at the end of Mar-18 to 516.13 million at the end of Jun-18 and Rural Teledensity also declined from 59.05 at the end of Mar-18 to 57.99 at the end of Jun-18

Wireline/Landline Teledensity also decreasing.Wireline subscriber declined from 22.81 million at the end of Mar-18 to 22.40 million at the end of Jun-18 with quarterly decline rate of 1.82%. The year-on-year (Y-O-Y) decline rate in wireline subscribers for Jun-18 is 6.68%. Wireline Teledensity declined from 1.76 at the end of Mar-18 to 1.72 at the end of Jun-18.

Internet Teledensity has increasing trendTotal number of Internet subscribers increased from 493.96 million at the end of Mar-18 to 512.26 million at the end of Jun-18, registering a quarterly growth rate of 3.71%. Out of 512.26 million internet subscribers, Wired Internet subscribers are 21.16 million and Wireless Internet subscribers are 491.10 million.

New Director of Finance appointed in MTNL

Mr. Milind Vijay Joshi has been appointed as the Director Finance in Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited. Mr. Milind Joshi was the Regional Director  in Southern Region of Air India Limited. The interview for the above post was held on 15.06.2018 where total 3 applicants applied for the said post. the other applicants beside Mr. Joshi were Mr. Anirudh Prasad Singh, GM Finance MTNL & Mr. Ghanashyam Prasad Verma, Sr. GM BSNL. BSNL Modem Revised charges.

Good news for BSNL broadband/VDSL customers. BSNL has revised the charges of its modem for its broadband and VDSL customers. Now a customer has the option to take modem from BSNL is two ways. 1.Modem Purchase. 2. Rental method. If you want a modem only to connect with your PC or laptop you can go for ADSL Basic Modem. It will cost you Rs. 1400 to purchase and if you want to rent it, it will cost Rs. 70 per month If you want a wifi modem it will cost you Rs. 1250 ,  if you want the same modem through rent you have to pay Rs. 110 per month Similarly VDSL wifi modem will cost you Rs. 325- the rental of which is Rs. 150. But do keep it mind that if you want the modem through rental method you have to pay a security deposit of Rs. 500. Which is refundable when you close the connection. The main attraction is these modems are coming with a warranty of 5 years. So if you face any problem with related to the modem it will be resolved by BSNL without any charges. For mor
