Teledensity indicators of various services in India April – June, 2018

Indian decreasing Teledensity
 1. The number of telephone subscribers in India declined from 1,206.22 million at the end of Mar-18 to 1,168.89 million at the end of Jun-18, registering a decline rate of 3.09% over the previous quarter.
This reflects year-on-year (Y-O-Y) decline rate of 3.46% over the same quarter of last year. The overall Teledensity in India declined from 92.84 as on QE Mar-18 to 89.72 as on QE Jun-18.
Urban Area Decreasing trendSubscription in Urban Areas declined from 681.61 million at the end of Mar-18 to 652.76 million at the end of Jun-18 and Urban Teledensity also declined from 165.90 to 158.16 during the same period.

Rural Area Decreasing trendRural subscription declined from 524.61 million at the end of Mar-18 to 516.13 million at the end of Jun-18 and Rural Teledensity also declined from 59.05 at the end of Mar-18 to 57.99 at the end of Jun-18

Wireline/Landline Teledensity also decreasing.Wireline subscriber declined from 22.81 million at the end of Mar-18 to 22.40 million at the end of Jun-18 with quarterly decline rate of 1.82%. The year-on-year (Y-O-Y) decline rate in wireline subscribers for Jun-18 is 6.68%. Wireline Teledensity declined from 1.76 at the end of Mar-18 to 1.72 at the end of Jun-18.

Internet Teledensity has increasing trendTotal number of Internet subscribers increased from 493.96 million at the end of Mar-18 to 512.26 million at the end of Jun-18, registering a quarterly growth rate of 3.71%. Out of 512.26 million internet subscribers, Wired Internet subscribers are 21.16 million and Wireless Internet subscribers are 491.10 million.

MTNL Broadband to MTNL FTTH Migration.

MTNL Mumbai unit has launched a new scheme under which MTNL broadband (triband) customer can migrate to MTNL FTTH connection. Why ? MTNL broadband/triband offers speed of 6 Mbps/ 8 Mbps etc. with the increasing number of devices the speed is not being adequate so in a need for speed FTTH seems a better alternative. Because MTNL FTTH offers good speed. Plan are starting from 50 Mbps besides there are 100 Mbps plans. also free calls are in the plans. First Rule The customer building must be fibre enabled by MTNL. that means if the place/building where the customer resides is FTTH ready. BSNL 99 Broadband Plans.& 199 plan and the hidden terms and conditions

After aggressive mobile tariffs to counter Reliance Jio, BSNL: has launched some competitive Broadband Plans. The New plans are only for  new customers. Explosive Broadband Combo plans by BSNL  ●Rs.99/~Upto 20 Mbps till 1.5GB/Day (45GB data per month) ●Rs.199/~Upto 20 Mbps till 5GB/Day  (150GB data per month) ●Rs.299/~Upto 20 Mbps till 10GB/Day  (300GB data per month) ●Rs.491/~Upto 20 Mbps till 20GB/Day  (600GB data per month)  In all the plans Speed reduced to 1Mbps after daily data consumption. And the good part is all the plan includes unlimited calling from landline too. The biggest drawback is the customers can stay in the plan only for 6 months, after 6 months they will be migrated to regular plans. And these plans are not for existing customers.
