MTNL Going the Air India way. No salary for the month of November 2018.

The Navratna PSU MTNL has gone the state carrier Air India way. Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited has not paid the salary to its employees for the month of November 2018 due to fund shortage.
As per media reports. MTNL is facing acute fund shortage for working capital and for paying salary. It has not paid the salary for Delhi unit & Mumbai unit and its corporate office.

In this regard MTNL is taking a short term loan of 250 crore rupees from the open market.

Its interesting to see that the before coming to power the NDA government put the blame on UPA that the condition of BSNL and MTNL are bad due to the policy of UPA government. But after 4 and half year at power nothing has been done by NDA government for the state operator BSNL and MTNL.

Both MTNL & BSNL are bleeding. BSNL has freezed some of its allowances. Prime Minister Narendra Modi or Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha has not taken any step to revive these two state operators. Rather they are dying a slow death due to no technology upgradation, no investment. Whereas Private operators are investing hugely on technology MTNL, Bsnl are kept in statue position when its come to technology.
Every other operator, jio, Airtel, Vodafone, Idea  have launched 4G but BSNL and MTNL are yet to have 4G. BSNL has a patchy 4G network.

And there are a lot of media reports about these conditions but Prime Minister or Telecom Minister are yet to speak a line about it. It seems They have no plan for BSNL & MTNL. The general election is happening at May 2019.
