Mahanagar Telephone Nigam limited (MTNL), an erstwhile navratna PSU has been in news due to its reducing revenue, mounting debt and employees Protest.  It has been observed that services of MTNL are gradually transferred to another PSU Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited ( BSNL). But employes are stuck in MTNL. No decision has been taken yet on the future of around 4000 MTNL employees. The future of these employees are uncertain as without any services left at MTNL the survival of MTNL seems in doubt. BSNL has launched two broadband plans which are selling like hotcakes. these plan are Plan 299 and 491. In Plan 299 One can get speed of 20 Mbps till FUP limit of 50 GB data and after 50 GB data are finished the speed falls back to 1 Mbps. MTNL and BSNL  has started its VRS scheme for employees. The VRS window started on 4 November 2019. And employees are on average getting 15-20 lakhs as VRS exgratia amount. The highest amount is slated to be Rs. 90 lakhs. BSNL Voluntary Retirement Scheme Details In BSNL, after the VRS window closed total 78,569 people have opted for VRS of BSNL. After the VRS there will be 70000 employees will be in service in Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited.
