The newest operator in India Reliance Jio has overtaken Vodafone India to become the second largest operator  by revenue in the Indian telecom market. Last quarter it goes past Idea it become the third largest operator by revenue and within three months it has dislodged the number two operator. So the new ranking as per revenue is as under Airtel Jio Vodafone Idea BSNL It is assumed that the merger of Idea and vodafone will be completed soon. And the new entity Vodafone Idea will be the largest operator by revenue followed by Airtel and Jio. The telecom sector is full of surprises let us see what happens next. ?

There was a social media uproar when a customer named Pooja requested for a particular religion customer representative for her complaint and the representative assigned to her was from that religion. This created a lot of controversy . In reply to these Allegations Airtel made an official clarification. Which is as under. Reliance Jio beat Idea Cellular  to become 3rd largest Revenue share telecom  operator in India. With its aggressive pricing and better than competition offer Jio is gaining more and more customer. To its original claim of giving 20% more data than competition is being the key point in attracting the mass value seeking consumer. Jio in a short span with free unlimited calling and data at dart cheap rate has been the talking point. With its innovative and cheap offer it plan to increase its revenue market share in coming times The New Ranking is as follows (Revenue Market share) Airtel-          31.8 Vodafone-    21 Jio-               19.8 Idea-             16.5 BSNL& MTNL -          10.1 But very soon Vodafone and Idea merger process is going to be completed., After the merger the new ranking will be different where Vodafone Idea will emerge as the leader followed by Airtel and Jio.

As per CNBC TV 18 report Govt serious about equity infusion in MTNL & BSNL, says Telecom Minister. But In another report in Financial Express it was reported that  Government mulls equity infusion into BSNL Now let us see what the Narendra Modi led government doing for MTNL & BSNL. Till now in 4 year no concrete steps has been taken by government for the improvement of MTNL & BSNL. 

Jio has upped its game by entering into hyper competition by reducing the price of its popular packs and increasing the data limit. The offer is known as Double Dhamaka offer. Under this offer the price of popular pack 399 has been reduced to 299 if one recharges on Myjio app and pay through phonepe. Also the data limit has been increased from 1.5 GB/day to 3 GB/day. So how to get discount of Rs. 100 in recharge of Rs. 399 pack. There is a little marketing gimmick in the claim that the discount is Rs. 100. Whereas the truth is that most of the users will get discount of Rs. 50 as the other 50 rupees discount is applicable for first jio recharge in phonepe. The process to avail Rs. 100.Rs. 50 discount is as follow. But if a user recharge with 149 pack then he/she will not be eligible for any discount. The validity of 399 pack is 84 days.

Good news for BSNL broadband/VDSL customers. BSNL has revised the charges of its modem for its broadband and VDSL customers. Now a customer has the option to take modem from BSNL is two ways. 1.Modem Purchase. 2. Rental method. If you want a modem only to connect with your PC or laptop you can go for ADSL Basic Modem. It will cost you Rs. 1400 to purchase and if you want to rent it, it will cost Rs. 70 per month If you want a wifi modem it will cost you Rs. 1250 ,  if you want the same modem through rent you have to pay Rs. 110 per month Similarly VDSL wifi modem will cost you Rs. 325- the rental of which is Rs. 150. But do keep it mind that if you want the modem through rental method you have to pay a security deposit of Rs. 500. Which is refundable when you close the connection. BSNL Prepaid 98 Pack BSNL has launched a aggressive data pack in the telecom market.  The pack is priced at Rs. 98. It includes GST charges. The Data Tsunami Pack offers 1.5 GB data per day for 26 Days. So by paying around 3.75 paisa  a day A BSNL user can get 1.5 GB data. This pack is suitable for users who browse a lot or stream a lot of media contents but do not make calls. This can be used as a second SIM to access internet and stream data. While the other connection might be used for calling purpose. After 1.5 GB data is exhausted there will be no speed cut but it will be charged at 3 paisa/10 KB. so if you have main account balance be careful when your daily data limit is exhausted. A small 5 minute youtube video might cost your main balance rs. 12-15 if your data limit has been exhausted.

 In an  extraordinary general meeting(EGM) on June 26, 2018 The board of Idea Cellular  has approved changing the name of ‘Idea Cellular Limited’ to ‘Vodafone Idea Limited’, as the merger of India's second and third ranked telco nears completion. Also it will raise Rs. 15,000 crore to  pare debt and fight with the aggressive Jio.                                                    The combined entity Vodafone Idea will be India's biggest Telco after the merger. There will be 4 way fight Vodafone idea, Airtel, Jio and the Government owned BSNL & MTNL. MTNL broadband/triband offers speed of 6 Mbps/ 8 Mbps etc. with the increasing number of devices the speed is not being adequate so in a need for speed FTTH seems a better alternative. Court admits Reliance Jio defamation suit against Cellular Operator Association of India & director general Rajan Mathews; restrains use of disparaging comments like  " back door operator",  "skullduggery",  "deep pockets with monopolistic designs" against Jio. COAI and Mathews' counsel defended these allegations, saying they were “fair comments” and not under the purview of defamation. Justice Yogesh Khanna disagreed. "I doubt whether the phrases/ words used back door operator" "skullduggery", "deep pockets with monopolistic designs" would fall within the phrase of fair comment and hence the plaintiff has been able to make out a prima facie case."
